1. Ohr Chadash  By Ayelet HaShachar, (Lisa Aronson Friedman, Shalomis Koffler, and Stephanie Rabinowitz). The trio's original songs blend unique vocal arrangements and beautiful harmonies to create "sounds of deepest feeling" that inspire and uplift. Their music is a sensitive expression of eternal Jewish themes, resonating with meaning for our times.

2. Day of Rest  By Rahel Jaskow - There are hundreds of songs devoted to the Sabbath, or more specifically the times of day within it - songs for the evening, the morning, and the following afternoon as the sun sets and we prepare to return to the weekday world. It is always wonderful to sing with people, to learn new songs and to return to the more familiar ones, or"old friends" as I call them. That's how I learned all the songs on this recording, and I thank everyone who taught them to me. Here is a small sampling of some "old friends".

1. Chincoteague Island   The Chincoteague and Assateague Ponies inhabit the 37-mile, barrier island of Assateague off the coast of Maryland and Virginia. Both herds are essentially the same except for the area of the island on which they graze, divided only by a fence which is an extension of the border between the two states. These small, hardy horses have been the source of great intrigue and speculation throughout their history on the island, from how they arrived there to the love affair created by Marguerite Henry's children's book, Misty of Chincoteague and the annual "Pony Penning" event.
